Catamarans are unlike other boats - they handle differently, ride differently and until you have tried one for yourself, you wont know what you have been missing.  Two thin hulls cut through the water more efficiently than one big one, not only reducing the power needed, and therefore fuel, but also giving an un-matched stability at speed and at rest.  It's like the difference between riding a motorbike and driving a car….
